On the night of 30 August, the Russian army attacked Kyiv again. Rescuers dealt with the aftermath in several districts of the city. Three people were injured. This was written by Mayor Vitali Klitschko and reported by the State Emergency Service.
Update. As of 12:50, all fires had been extinguished, including in the Holosiivskyi district, where the fire covered an area of 3,000 sq m.
According to Klitschko, overnight there was a strike on a two-storey non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district. There, as a result of falling debris, the roof caught fire.
In the Obolonskyi district, the strike caused a fire from the second to the fifth floors of a 12-storey residential building. The fire was extinguished over an area of 80 sq m. Three injured people were handed over to medics.
In the Podilskyi district, there was a strike on a non-residential structure, and in the Holosiivskyi district a fire broke out in an administrative building.
In the Desnianskyi district, grass caught fire in an open area covering 2 hectares.
As of 06:00, firefighters were still working at some locations, in particular in the Holosiivskyi district. Firefighting is ongoing there, with all necessary forces and equipment deployed.
All other fires caused by enemy strikes that have occurred in the capital since yesterday have been extinguished.
- This is already the fourth day of Russia’s attack on the capital. Yesterday, the occupiers killed a two-year-old girl in Kyiv.
- From the night of 27 August, Russia switched to effectively continuous strikes by small groups of drones on the capital region. A significant share of the UAVs are jet-powered: such drones move several times faster than those with propeller engines and are harder to shoot down.
- During the day on 27 August, four people were injured as a result of chaotic attacks on the capital. At the same time as the strikes on the capital, the enemy terrorised Kyiv region.
- On the morning of 28 August, the Russians killed one person in Kyiv region, and at least three more were injured during the day. The enemy hit a Nova Poshta terminal and a neighbouring production facility. After the first strike, it carried out a repeat strike on the same location, and it was as a result of these attacks that a man riding along the street on a bicycle was killed.
- In the evening, the enemy carried out numerous strikes on Kyiv’s suburbs, targeting warehouses. In the evening, a production facility in Bucha district, in the village of Myla, was damaged. There, detonation began, hundreds of people had to be evacuated, and there were fatalities and injuries.
