Russia Launches 121 Drones at Ukraine From since yesterday

Defenders shot down or suppressed 96 aerial threats.

On the night of 31 August, from 18:00, Russia attacked Ukrainians with one Kh-59 guided air-launched missile from airspace over the Black Sea, as well as 121 Shahed-type strike UAVs (mostly jet-powered), “Gerbera” drones and “Parodiya” decoy drones. The launches came from the Russian directions of Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and from occupied Donetsk and Crimea.

As of 8:00, according to preliminary information from the Air Force, 96 drones were neutralised in the north, south, east and centre of the country. The missile did not reach its target.

The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

“Enemy air-attack weapons were recorded hitting 11 locations, and downed debris falling at eight locations,” the statement said.

Since the night of 27 August, Russia has been carrying out what is effectively continuous drone terror against the capital region. In Saturday alone, the enemy killed one person in Kyiv — a two-year-old girl — and wounded another 12. The day before, Russia killed at least 38 people and wounded more than 50 in a strike on the village of Myla in Kyiv Region.
