Military Intelligence Details Strike on Russia’s Novatek Ust-Luga Complex

Today, 1 September, servicemen from Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (HUR) and the Defence Forces struck the Russian Novatek Ust-Luga complex.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence.

“On 1 September 2026, operators of the Department of Active Operations and the Department of Unmanned Systems of the HUR of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, as part of a deep-strike operation jointly with the Defence Forces of Ukraine, hit the Novatek Ust-Luga complex in Russia’s Leningrad Region,” the statement said.

Key elements of the oil-processing unit and technological equipment were hit. A major fire broke out at the plant.

 

  • Overnight in Russia, there were complaints about more than 500 drones. Damage was recorded in the port area of Ust-Luga. According to local authorities, more than 50 drones were allegedly destroyed over the region overnight.
