On the night of 12 September, Russian forces carried out a large-scale air attack on Ukraine, using ballistic and cruise missiles, guided air-launched missiles and 129 attack drones. The main direction of the strike was Odesa region.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces used Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Russia’s Voronezh and Rostov regions and from temporarily occupied Crimea.
The enemy also launched:
- 8 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
- 6 Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles from airspace over the Black Sea;
- 129 attack UAVs, including Shahed, the S8000 “Banderol” and “Parodiya” decoy drones.
The main direction of the Russian attack was Odesa region.

The air attack was repelled by fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
As of 08:30, air defences shot down or suppressed 110 aerial targets, including:
- 6 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 1 S8000 “Banderol” drone;
- 2 Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles;
- 101 Shahed-type attack UAVs, “Herbera” and other types.
At the same time, missile and attack drone strikes were recorded at 20 locations, as well as falling debris from downed targets at four locations.
“The attack is ongoing; enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!” – the Air Force stressed.
