The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, are carrying out more than 250 searches in various regions of Ukraine in a case concerning the illegal manufacture and sale of the counterfeit weight-loss drug Biopatid.
This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The investigative actions are being conducted simultaneously in different regions of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers are investigating the activities of an organised group which, according to investigators, was engaged in the illegal manufacture and sale of a knowingly counterfeit weight-loss drug, Biopatid.
“Large-scale searches across Ukraine over the counterfeit weight-loss drug Biopatid. The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, are conducting simultaneous investigative actions in various regions of the country,” the Office of the Prosecutor General said.
At present, law enforcement officers are carrying out more than 250 court-authorised searches.
The criminal proceedings are being investigated under Part 3 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 321-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This concerns, in particular, the falsification of medicinal products or the circulation of falsified medicinal products committed by an organised group.
The Office of the Prosecutor General said that details and the results of the investigative actions will be made public later.
