On the night of 12 September, units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck the Tolyattikauchuk plant in Tolyatti, in Russia’s Samara region. A hit was recorded on the site, after which a fire broke out.

The strike was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, a hit was recorded on the grounds of the Tolyattikauchuk plant, followed by a fire. The extent of the damage is currently being clarified.

The Tolyattikauchuk plant specialises in the production of synthetic rubbers, monomers, fractions and high-octane petrol additives.

The General Staff noted that synthetic rubbers, in particular, are used in the production of solid rocket propellant for tactical and ballistic missiles.

The Unmanned Systems Forces added that the strike was carried out by operators of the 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces together with other components of Ukraine’s Defence Forces. The distance to the target was almost 880 km.

“Work on the enemy’s key military-industrial facilities continues,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed.
