On the night of 12 September, drones attacked Taganrog in Russia’s Rostov region. Local residents recorded thick smoke above the military airfield.
This is reported by the OSINT analysis project Astra.
Local Telegram channels had been reporting a drone threat in the Rostov region overnight. Later, videos began to appear online showing thick smoke over Taganrog.
OSINT analysts at Astra determined that the smoke was rising from the direction of the "Taganrog-Central" military airfield.
The airfield is located within Taganrog. It is home to the 708th Military Transport Aviation Regiment. Nearby, the 325th aircraft repair plant is also operating, carrying out repairs of transport aircraft and components.
Rostov region governor Yury Slyusar said that more than 70 drones were allegedly destroyed in the region overnight. He also reported "consequences on the ground" and a fire in a shop building.
