Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has rejected the possibility of halting hostilities during peace talks with Ukraine. In doing so, he dismissed Ukraine’s proposal to pause the fighting as a starting point ahead of negotiations, France 24 reports.
He also said the war “could have ended a year ago” if the “agreements” between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Anchorage had been implemented. As is known, Russia says that the presidents’ meeting in Alaska discussed the so-called “3+2” formula.
The Russian minister also said that some European countries had privately suggested “establishing some channel of communication”, but during the contacts “nothing new was said”.
As for the energy truce that Donald Trump announced yesterday, comments were provided by Dmitry Peskov. He said Russia considers it a good idea.

According to him, Russia believes that at Vladimir Putin’s meeting with Donald Trump in Alaska it managed to agree on the 3+2 formula (ending the war on terms that recognise Russia’s control over Crimea, the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in full, and parts of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions that are currently occupied). In the States, the view of the agreements is different.
