As of the morning of 28 September, Russian attacks on the energy sector have caused new power outages in Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv and Odesa regions.
Ukrenergo says that emergency repair work is already under way wherever security conditions currently allow. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore damaged equipment to operation as quickly as possible and reconnect all consumers.
Due to adverse weather conditions, as of this morning 11 settlements in Sumy and Poltava regions remain fully or partially without electricity. Repair crews from the regional power distribution companies are working to restore damaged power lines.
Electricity consumption is in line with seasonal levels. Today, 28 September, as of 09:30, it was at the same level as at the same time on Friday.
Yesterday, 27 September, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 2.9% higher than the peak of the previous Sunday.
Ukrenergo advises that heavy electricity use today should be shifted to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently — from 11:00 to 15:00. They also ask people not to switch on several high-power electrical appliances at the same time in the evening, from 17:00 to 22:00.
The situation in the power system may change. It is therefore worth following updates on the websites and official social media pages of the regional power distribution companies.
- The Russian army continued its attacks on Ukraine throughout the night and morning. In particular, it struck critical infrastructure in Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi and Zaporizhzhia regions. People have been killed, including a foreign national. Dozens have been injured.
