Germany is preparing for large-scale and serious hybrid attacks and is ready to respond to them swiftly and decisively.
This was stated by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, The Guardian reports.
According to him, the rise in the number of such incidents is linked to Russia’s disorientation over its unsuccessful military actions in Ukraine. Merz stressed that it is important not to give in to intimidation through cyberattacks, drones and propaganda.
The German chancellor also once again warned that the coming months will be decisive for Ukraine’s fate and the security of the whole of Europe.
- Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna believes European leaders should stop calling Russian attacks “hybrid”, as they are real acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks.
- Meanwhile, against the backdrop of incidents involving unidentified drones, Germany’s armed forces are planning to create their first drone regiment.
- The unit will consist of 600 personnel and will be equipped with drones with a range of up to 500 kilometres.
