FA-50GF light aircraft have officially begun combat duty in Poland, strengthening protection of the country’s eastern border.
This was announced by Poland’s Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The official stressed that although the aircraft were bought without weapons, they have been successfully incorporated into the country’s defence system.
- Poland is implementing the “Eastern Shield” programme to strengthen defences along its eastern border with Belarus and Russia.
- The programme is planned to be implemented by 2028, and it is the largest operation to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank since 1945.
