In Kherson Region, a court has found a resident of Henichesk guilty of collaboration. The woman voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the Russians and headed an occupation authority.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The court sentenced her to 10 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property. The woman was also banned for 15 years from holding posts in state authorities, public administration, local self-government bodies and institutions providing public services.

According to the investigation, in March 2025 the accused agreed to cooperate with the occupiers and headed the body they illegally created, the so-called “head of the Henichesk Municipal District of Kherson Region”.

In this role, she ran the activities of the pseudo-body of the occupation authorities, carried out administrative and managerial as well as organisational and executive functions, and was responsible for its logistical support.

Her remit included the budget of the pseudo-municipal district, management of “ownerless property”, organising decisions in the housing and utilities sector, and recruiting staff for the illegal body.

The verdict was delivered following special court proceedings in the absence of the accused (in absentia).

The sentence will be calculated from the moment of her actual detention for the purpose of enforcing the verdict.
