As a result of a Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of 7 October, the warehouse of the #knygolove publishing house was hit again. It had been restored after Russian strikes in July. It is currently impossible to calculate the number of books destroyed, but according to preliminary information, tens of thousands of copies have been lost, the publisher reported on Facebook.

Final losses will be calculated after full access to the warehouse is restored and a detailed assessment is carried out. No staff were injured in the attack.

“For us, this is a significant blow. These are books we created, printed and prepared for you. New releases we managed to receive over the past two months, reprints of the books Russia destroyed in July at our previous warehouse—reprints we have been waiting for together with you,” the publisher said.

  • The July attack destroyed around 250,000 of the publisher’s books. Since the first year of the full-scale war, Russia has targeted Ukraine’s book industry, but this year it has intensified such strikes.
