Ukrainian company REFORM has unveiled the OPM-TLC 79 operational EOD vehicle, built on the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Pickup 4WD. The company reported this on Facebook.
The vehicle features a fully armoured capsule with seating for five, including the driver. According to the manufacturer, the protection level meets PZSA-3 and B6 (BR6 / FB6) standards, meaning the vehicle can withstand hits from 7.62x51 mm and 5.56x45 mm rounds.
To improve crew safety, the vehicle has been fitted with armoured front and rear doors. They have anti-fragment frames, reinforced hinges and a door load-relief mechanism. Bullet-resistant heated glass and an armoured ventilation-and-evacuation hatch have also been installed. Special equipment inside the vehicle is mounted on fixtures with quick-release fasteners.
The OPM-TLC 79 has received a reinforced suspension, upgraded brakes and a run-flat tyre system, allowing the vehicle to keep moving after a puncture or a sudden loss of pressure.
The base vehicle for the OPM-TLC 79 is a Toyota Land Cruiser 79 with a 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 201 horsepower. It has a six-speed automatic transmission and 4WD.
REFORM is a Ukrainian manufacturer of specialised and armoured vehicles. The company has been operating since 2011. Its range includes armoured vehicles, special-purpose transport, vans, medical and EOD vehicles, as well as equipment for humanitarian demining.
As a reminder, Ukrainian Armour showcased the Saigak-1 and Varta-3 armoured vehicles at the MSPO exhibition in Poland, featuring mine protection and the option to install the Tavria remotely controlled weapon module.
