On the night of 7 October, Russia carried out a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine using cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as drones. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General. According to updated information from the Minister of Internal Affairs, 12 people were killed and more than 40 were injured.

Pre-trial investigations have been launched into alleged war crimes under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code. Prosecutors, together with investigators from the police and the Security Service, are documenting the consequences of Russia’s latest attack. 

In Pryluky, Chernihiv Region, a missile strike destroyed two entrances of an apartment block. Other residential buildings, a children’s and youth creativity centre, a business and cars were damaged. At present, five civilians are known to have been killed and at least 20 injured, including three children. Rescue teams are still clearing the rubble, so the number of victims may change.

In Kremenchuk, Poltava Region, a cruise missile struck an area between residential buildings. Two people were killed, and nine others were injured. Apartment blocks, private homes and cars were damaged. Search-and-rescue operations are ongoing.

In Kyiv, the combined attack killed two men. Their bodies were found on the grounds of a garage cooperative in the Darnytskyy district. The impact of strikes was also recorded in the Podilskyy and Shevchenkivskyy districts — warehouse premises, a garage cooperative and the windows of a residential building were damaged.

In Kyiv Region, in the Obukhiv district, three industrial and warehouse facilities were damaged. Fires broke out at the sites and have been contained. A lorry and a trailer were also damaged. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

As a result of missile shelling in Dnipro, a business, high-rise buildings and a sports club were damaged. In the Nikopol area, two people were injured and private homes were damaged.

  • As reported, on the night of 7 October Russia attacked Ukraine with anti-ship, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as 130 attack drones. The main directions of the strike were Kyiv Region, Kharkiv region, Poltava Region and Dnipropetrovsk region. According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defence shot down or suppressed 161 targets.
