Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented 20 certificates for apartments to Heroes of Ukraine and to the families of fallen soldiers who were awarded the title posthumously.
This was reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine.
During the presentation, Zelenskyy stressed that the state must provide every Hero of Ukraine and the families of Ukrainian defenders with their own homes.
"Gratitude, respect, a clear fact: that every Hero, that every family of Ukrainian Heroes should have their own home here, in Ukraine," the President said.
He also emphasised that Ukraine has endured thanks to the people who are fighting for its independence, defending the state and not allowing the enemy to destroy it.
The Head of State separately mentioned the service members who gave their lives for Ukraine. Those present honoured their memory with a minute’s silence.
Zelenskyy thanked Ukrainian defenders, defence industry workers and everyone who is ensuring the country’s resilience during the war.
"Ukrainians are holding on, fighting and defending their future, their freedom, their families, their home and the right to live as they want, on their own land," the President stressed.
