The Cabinet of Ministers has simplified access to the property of state-owned companies for data centres and telecoms operators. They will be able to lease it without holding an electronic auction.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi reported this.
"The government has simplified access to the property of state-owned companies for data centres and telecoms operators. Without an electronic auction, they will be able to lease the property of business entities in which the state’s share exceeds 50% for the placement of digital and telecommunications infrastructure," the statement says.
The simplified mechanism will apply during martial law and for six months after it ends.
The decision is expected to help businesses relocate and deploy IT infrastructure more quickly amid Russian strikes.
Russian Shelling of Data Centres
- In Kyiv, a Russian strike destroyed the dline.ua data centre. At the same time, the company said it had moved all services and customer data to backup sites.
- Earlier, the Cosmonova data centre ceased operations as a result of repeated Russian strikes. The destruction was extensive.
- On 1 October, the "Parkovyi" data centre also reported that it had stopped operating. The damage from the strikes was critical. Restoring services at this site is impossible, the data centre said. It also added that customer data had been deployed on backup sites in the European Union.
