President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that Ukrainian forces struck two Russian oil refineries – in Omsk and Ukhta. The latter is located roughly 1,900 kilometres from Ukraine’s state border.
The head of state said this on his social media.
Drones of the An-196 RS type were used to strike the Ukhta refinery, with a flight range of about 2,500 kilometres. On the eve of the attack on the Omsk refinery, FP-6 unmanned aerial vehicles were used – modified FP-1s.
Zelenskyy also reported the strike on another Russian data centre. He described the operation as a mirror response to Russian strikes on Ukraine.
“We continue to respond to Russia for its strikes on Ukraine, and we do so accurately,” the President noted.
- Earlier, the General Staff reported that Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refining and petrochemical complex in Russia’s Bashkortostan, about 1,300 km from Ukraine. After the strike, a fire broke out on the company’s premises, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said. The complex is one of the largest in Russia, capable of processing up to 10 million tonnes of hydrocarbon feedstock per year and producing, among other things, petrol, diesel fuel, fuel oil and bitumen.
