On the night of 9 October, starting from 18:00, Russia attacked Ukraine with 136 Shahed-type strike UAVs (93 of them jet-powered), Gerbera drones, and Parodiya-type decoy drones, launched from Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from occupied Donetsk and Crimea.
The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine. The Air Force reported this.
“According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defence has shot down/suppressed 114 enemy Shahed-type UAVs (77 of them jet-powered), Gerbera drones, and drones of other types. Strikes by the enemy’s aerial attack assets were recorded at eight locations, and the fall of downed drones (debris) at seven locations,” the statement said.
The attack is ongoing, with several Ru UAVs in the airspace.
