Kyiv is ready to take additional measures to protect residents following experts’ conclusions, first and foremost those of the military. The decision to install nets on bridges, which the enemy has been actively attacking in recent times, was made by the State Emergency Service.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said this at an event organised by LB and EFI Group. He said that, in general, anti-drone nets installed in frontline cities are intended to protect against FPV drones, and the capital is not within the area where this type of UAV is used.
“It was the State Emergency Service that made the decision on the bridges. The experts at the State Emergency Service can explain this. I am not an expert on protection with nets or on the regulations regarding the criteria for particular facilities,” he said.
Asked whether Kyiv plans to cover public transport windows with armoured film, following Zaporizhzhia’s example, the mayor said the city is ready to do so if experts state there is a corresponding need.
