In the Obolonskyy, Svyatoshynskyy and Podilskyy districts, some public transport services were temporarily suspended on the morning of 9 October. The reason is a lack of voltage in the power system.
This was reported by Kyivpastrans. Updates on changes will be provided.
“Due to a lack of voltage in the power system, the operation of some public transport services in the Obolonskyy, Podilskyy and Svyatoshynskyy districts has been temporarily suspended. Further information on the resumption of services and any subsequent changes to public transport operations will be provided additionally,” the statement said.
Yesterday, because of the voltage shortage, not only did some surface electric transport stop, but the Kyiv Metro also came to a halt. The Kyiv City State Administration reported the stoppage at 18:21 and the resumption of services on two lines at 18:39. At 19:24, the administration announced that services had resumed on all metro lines, but with delays to the timetable.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, commenting on the disruptions, recalled that as a result of attacks in previous years the city completely lost its own generation capacity and therefore depends on the country’s power system.
