Latvia has supplied the Chernihiv region with 30 generators as part of a government programme to support Ukraine. The region is expected to receive a further 30 units of equipment.
This is reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy.
The capacity of the supplied generators ranges from 80 to 650 kW. The equipment is intended to help strengthen Chernihiv region’s energy resilience ahead of the heating season.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received more than 900 tonnes of energy equipment from Latvian donors. In particular, this includes power transformers, current transformers, surge arresters, insulators, tractors with drilling rigs and wireless routers.
This equipment helps Ukrainian energy workers restore energy facilities after Russian attacks.
In addition, Latvia has allocated €600,000 to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
One of the priority areas of cooperation is the supply of equipment from power plants that have been decommissioned in Latvia. It is used for repair and restoration work at Ukrainian energy facilities.
- More than 23 tonnes of energy equipment were delivered to Odesa region from the warehouses of the hub network of Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy.
