The European Union has provided Ukraine with an additional €2.86bn under the defence component of the Ukraine Support Loan programme. The funds are intended to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities amid Russian attacks on cities and critical infrastructure.
Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi reported this.
According to him, the European assistance will enable Ukraine to secure more drones, air defence systems, missiles and ammunition. This is necessary to protect the population and reinforce Ukrainian troops on the front line.
“We continue to work with our European partners to ensure the remaining defence funding is provided without delay,” the head of government added.
The Prime Minister thanked European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU Commissioner Andrius Kubilius and EU member states for supporting Ukraine’s defence.
