Ukraine will share combat experience, technologies and practical defence expertise with Moldova. The countries also plan to develop joint defence projects.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.
To advance co-operation, Ukraine’s Defence Minister Yevhenii Khmara and Moldova’s Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatîi signed a military-technical co-operation agreement in Kyiv.
"Ukraine has experience you cannot gain in exercises. We are ready to share this knowledge with partners, help them better understand the capabilities of equipment and use it more effectively. We are already assisting Moldova with consultations on building up air defence. Our task is to strengthen our own defence and help partners become more resilient to modern threats," Yevhenii Khmara stressed.
The agreement covers the following areas of co-operation:
- modernisation, repair and maintenance of military equipment;
- exchange of experience in engineering support, logistics, protection of personnel and critical infrastructure;
- training and education of specialists;
- testing of military products, and exchange of experience on development and procurement;
- joint research and development and experimental design projects in the field of military production;
- developing capabilities in cyber defence and the protection of airspace.
The document was concluded for five years, with the option of automatic extension. Its implementation will not affect the Republic of Moldova’s neutral status enshrined in the Constitution.
