In Nikopol, a faculty secretary at one of the local educational institutions has been served with a notice of suspicion.
Police exposed her for organising a scheme to admit conscription-age men so they could obtain a deferment from mobilisation, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.
According to investigators, the suspect was a member of the admissions committee. She ensured men could sit entrance exams without hindrance and were subsequently enrolled.
For her services, the woman demanded $1,000–$4,000. This year alone, 42 conscription-age men were enrolled at the institution under the scheme.
In addition, for money the official arranged for students to be transferred to state-funded places and to pass their exam sessions successfully.
During searches of the suspect’s home, law enforcement officers seized draft notes, documentation, and cash: more than one million hryvnias, $40,000 and €18,700.
