The SBU said that since this morning NABU and the SAPO have been conducting searches of its staff. The investigative actions are taking place within a number of criminal proceedings and in accordance with court orders.

The Security Service supports an objective and impartial investigation and is assisting the procedural actions, the SBU press centre said. Earlier, NABU reported that a senior official threatened detectives with a weapon and obstructed the conduct of lawful actions.

Later, NABU reported the exposure of a criminal organisation that was engaged in ensuring the unhindered operation of call centres and other illegal businesses. Officials from the SBU, the Office of the Prosecutor General, the National Police, as well as individuals from criminal circles, are suspected of involvement in this organisation.

Names and details are not yet officially known.
