On the night of 8 November and in the morning, Russian forces once again attacked energy infrastructure facilities. The shelling caused new power outages in Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy.

In the affected regions, where the security situation allows, energy workers are carrying out repair and restoration work. At the same time, repeated attacks and air-raid alerts are complicating their efforts and delaying the return of electricity supplies.

As of the morning, the situation in Dnipropetrovsk Region remains the most difficult. Russian strikes have damaged a significant number of energy facilities critical to the region’s electricity supply. Until the situation stabilises, emergency outage measures are in place in the region.

Emergency outages are also being applied in Kyiv, Kyiv Region, Zhytomyr Region, Kharkiv Region and Sumy Region.

The situation in the capital region also remains difficult. Due to extensive damage to energy infrastructure there, grid restrictions remain in force. Restoration work is continuing around the clock.

As a result of the shelling, the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant lost external power and switched to electricity supplied by diesel generators. This is already the 16th loss of external power at the plant since the start of 2026.

The Ministry of Energy warns that, due to constant Russian attacks, the situation in the power system may change during the day. People are advised to check official resources of distribution system operators — regional power companies — for up-to-date information on outages.
