Since the beginning of 23 February, pro-Russian militants have launched 33 shooting attacks against the antiterrorist operation (ATO) troops in the Donetsk and Mariupol sectors, the ATO HQ press service has said on Facebook.

They fired with mortars banned by the Minsk agreements on the ATO strongpoints near Krasnohorivka, with automatic grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms on the ATO positions near Opytne, Pisky, Avdiyivka, the Butivka mine and Zaytseve.

Enemy snipers operated near Maryinka and the Butivka mine.

Four shooting attacks with mortars, grenade launchers and small arms were launched against Ukrainian marines.

In the morning, the militants made about 10 shots with 82-mm mortars at the ATO fortifications near Chermalyk.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said on 23 February that it was checking reports about a possible large-scale offensive by the militants after Donetsk separatist Oleksandr Zakharchenko had ordered hospitals in Horlivka and Yenakiyeve to prepare to receive the wounded.
