Deputy information policy minister quits
Popova lambastes attacks on journalists and freedom of speech.
Deputy Minister of Information Policy Tatiana Popova has left the post.
"I am quitting the government as I condemn the attacks on journalists and freedom of speech by some politicians and political organizations. I cannot accept the lack of proper response to these attacks," Popovs wrote on her Facebook page.
"In protest, I quit the government and will continue to defend the ideas of Maidan, freedom and democracy as a citizen and a volunteer. I will continue fighting for everything that our patriots are fighting for at the front line," she concluded.
Popova posted a photo with her resignation statement.
