Ukrainian army positions in Donbas came under 68 attacks over the past day, the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center said in a statement on 5 September.
Thirty-six attacks on Ukrainian army positions were seen in the Luhansk sector, the report said.
"The enemy staged armed provocations using small arms, machineguns and grenade launchers near Novooleksandrivka, Novozvanivka, Tryokhizbenka, Stanytsia Luhanska and Popasna. A sniper was active in Novooleksandrivka, Popasna and Stepne, and 120mm and 82mm mortars were fired on Novooleksandrivka and Novozvanivka. In addition, Novooleksandrivka and Novozvanivka were shelled by 122mm artillery and infantry combat vehicles, and an anti-aircraft gun was fired on Novooleksandrivka," the report said.
The Mariupol sector saw 19 ceasefire violations. Militants fired small arms, machineguns and grenade launchers on the outskirts of Mariyinka, Shyrokyne, Talakivka, Starohnativka and Hnutove. Besides, an anti-tank missile system was fired on Slavne, an infantry combat vehicle and an 82mm mortar were engaged in an attack on Talakivka, an infantry combat vehicle attacked Lebedynske, and a sniper was active in Mariyinka, the report said.
The Ukrainian army came under 13 attacks in the Donetsk sector; small arms, machineguns and grenade launchers were fired in the area of Avdiyivka, Novhorodske, Kamyanka and Zaitseve. Novoselivka Druha and Avdiyivka were shelled by 120mm mortars, it said.
A militant drone was spotted in the anti-terrorist operation zone, the report said.
