The cyber police of Ukraine have received 194 pieces of special equipment for protecting against cyber threats under a program administered by the OSCE.
"Today heralds the next stage of our cooperation [with the OSCE]," Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said during the handover ceremony on 19 July in Kyiv.
UK Ambassador to Ukraine Judith Gough, who attended the ceremony, said her government was happy to cooperate.
"Official handover of equipment to #Ukraine Cyber Police. UK provided training to 184 officers. Working together to tackle #cyber crime," Gough said on her Twitter page following the event.
The chief of Ukraine's cyber police, Serhiy Dmediuk, in turn, said the software and the equipment would be instrumental in countering cyber threats.
"I think the use of the sate-of-the-art equipment will make it easier to promptly react to cyber thereats."
