Lithuanian president urges further reforming of Ukraine's PGO
"Reforms must be consistent, ensuring the independence of all public services from political influence."
Lithuania calls on Ukraine to continue reforming the Prosecutor-General's Office, especially as regards its fight against corruption, Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite said at a joint briefing with Petro Poroshenko in Vilnius on Friday, 8 December.
Grybauskaite stressed that reforms should be consistent, ensuring the independence of all public services from political influence.
At the same time, law enforcement agencies should not use their information to participate in politics.
The president of Lithuania stressed that such principles should act for both Lithuania and Ukraine.
Earlier, Lithuania urged Ukraine to ensure the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau from political influence.
