Fatherland leader Yuliya Tymoshenko has said Ukraine should join the EU and NATO. Speaking at the presentation of a concept of a new constitution, she said she was confident Crimea and Donbas would be returned to Ukraine, an LB.ua correspondent has reported.

"Donbas and Crimea will be returned to Ukraine. This is our land. It will be restored. As long as our hearts beat, we will fight for this until we win and achieve the result. No obstacles could keep us," she said.

She pledged to "make our army even stronger and more professional".

"The occupied areas which were destroyed will be rebuilt and developed to a new level. And people will be able to return to their places. And no-one will slit our nation," she said.

She recalled that there were over 2m internally displaced persons which should be able to return to their places of residence after peace is restored.

"No matter what they say, we will certainly do our best to join the European family, the EU… We will be there no matter what. Our goal is to be a fully capable and strong member of the EU… When we speak about security, we should honestly say that a strong security system is certainly the NATO system. And Ukraine will be a NATO member," she added.
