Trilateral contact group agrees ceasefire as of 29 August

Russia continues to arm militants regardless.

The trilateral contact group on a Donbas settlement has agreed another ceasefire as of 29 August, the spokesperson for Ukrainian negotiator Leonid Kuchma, Darka Olifer, has said on Facebook.

"What a true peace in Donbas needs above all is for Russia to stop supplying ORDLO [occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions] with arms, ammunition and fuel. Such supplies continue nowadays […] The discovery of mines which Ukraine has never had made Ukrainian representatives especially angry. We are talking about the Okhota system whose installation requires advanced professional training. This device is used in contradiction to all international conventions on the use of antipersonnel mines, it kills and wounds dozens of people," she said.

Ukraine's suggestion to discuss an exchange of prisoners was rejected by Russian representatives.
