The United States and Russia had serious economic relations before Russia’s war against Ukraine began, and there are probably some future projects in the works.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in response to a question from LB.ua at a meeting with journalists in Kyiv on 27 May.
“I think this is simply impossible during the war. That’s why there are various parties, including business, who are interested in the war ending,” the President of Ukraine noted.
He added that the United States is talking about a ceasefire not only because of the victims, but also for economic reasons.
“Of course, we cannot support business as usual between America or Europe and Russia during the war. In any case, we will not accept it. I think that no normal person can accept this, regardless of citizenship. That is why it is clear what sanctions are, what they are, what they affect. So it’s complicated. Therefore, a ceasefire is probably a decision for all parties to make in terms of opportunities,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded.
