The 9th Ukraine on Film festival, the oldest Ukrainian film festival in the EU capital, will take place in Brussels.

The screening will showcase the latest Ukrainian films: from this year's Oscar nominee to a film adaptation of a book by one of the most famous Ukrainian writers of our time. This was announced by the Ukrainian Institute on its Facebook page.

Ukraine on Film is organised by the Ukrainian Institute, Arthouse Traffic, the Association of Ukrainians in Belgium with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium, the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, ARTE TV channel and Cinema Galleries.

This year's screening features 5 films - both from creators who have already gained international recognition and from rising stars:

Porcelain War, directed by Slava Leontyev and Brendan Bellomo

Songs of a Burning Earth, directed by Olha Zhurba

Fragments of Ice, directed by Mariya Stoyanova

U Are the Universe, directed by Pavlo Ostrikov

Grey Bees, directed by Dmytro Moyseyev

The Ukraine on Film festival will run from 28 May to 1 June at Cinema Galeries.
