The Kalanchak and Chaplynka checkpoints on Ukraine's administrative border with Crimea in Kherson Region have suspended their operation in connection with the ecological situation at the Crimean Titanium plant located on a Russia-controlled territory. Chonhar is working as usual, an aide to the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Oleh Slobodyan, has said.
"To preserve the life and health of the staff of the State Border Guard Service and citizens living at the administrative border and those crossing through the checkpoint, in connection with the dangerous ecological situation at the Titanium plant in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea, a decision has been made to suspend the work of the Kalanchak and Chaplynka checkpoints. The administrative border with temporarily occupied Crimea can only be crossed at the Chonhar checkpoint, which is operating in the regular mode," he said on Facebook.
