Addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on Twitter that "it is necessary to stop the escalation immediately for the sake of people's lives". According to him, "it is impossible to look at all this without grief and sorrow".

The Foreign Ministry has advised Ukrainians against visiting Israel and Palestine.

Treason case

The Prosecutor-General's Office has served Opposition Platform-For Life MP Viktor Medvedchuk with a notice of suspicion and a motion for an arrest warrant, according to Interfax-Ukraine. He is suspected of high treason and embezzlement of natural resources.

Economy

French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has arrived in Ukraine on his first official visit. He will meet Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and a number of ministers to sign four intergovernmental agreements and discuss bilateral trade.

Almost 8,500 Ukrainians have declared income exceeding 1m hryvnyas, which is 6% more than last year, the State Fiscal Service has said on Telegram. One Kyiv resident has declared over 1bn hryvnyas of income.

The Cabinet of Ministers has established the Economic Security Bureau as a central executive body whose activities will be guided and coordinated by the government. Prime Minister Shmyhal praised this step as historic and the one "signaling the end of the era of forced pressure on business".

According to Shmyhal, the Cabinet of Ministers has developed a bill to patch tax loopholes used by big business, with the government expecting to increase the revenues of the state budget by 60bn hryvnyas.

Crime

The Kyiv city prosecutor's office and the city directorate of the State Fiscal Service have searched the city-owned companies Kyivmisksvitlo and Kyivavtodor in cases concerning suspected tax evasion.

Coronavirus

Three coronavirus vaccines are being developed in Ukraine, according to the Health Ministry. Two state-sponsored vaccines are being developed by the Cell Biology Institute in Lviv and the Biochemistry Institute in Kyiv, while the third one is being developed by Diaprof-Med at private expense, chief sanitary officer Viktor Lyashko has told Segodnya.

Ukraine logged 4,538 new Covid-19 cases and 356 coronavirus-related fatalities.
