The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, addressed the CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg on Twitter.
Fedorov called on him to block access to Facebook and Instagram for Russian users while their tanks destroy kindergartens and hospitals in Ukraine.
"Mark Zuckerberg! While you are creating the Meta Universe, Russia is destroying real life in Ukraine. We ask to block access to Facebook and Instagram for users from Russia while their tanks destroy our kindergartens and hospitals," the Ukrainian minister wrote.
Note that yesterday the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine appealed to the YouTube service to block several Russian propaganda channels. Also, yesterday, Facebook banned advertising of Russian state media and their monetization.
