The adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerashchenko, confirmed that Viktor Medvedchuk, a People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Opposition Platform — For life, whose daughter is the goddaughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has escaped from house arrest.
"If we win, we will find the judge who decided to remove the bracelet from him and the Territorial Defence Forces of Kyiv will talk to him to their heart's content. If the traitor Medvedchuk is not caught now, he will spend the rest of his life in Russia as well as Yanukovych. Medvedchuk knew for sure that there would be a full-scale invasion, so his wife Oksana Marchenko hastily fled Ukraine through Belarus, Gerashchenko said.
It is important to note that Medvedchuk has been under house arrest in a treason case since October 2021. On February 21, 2022, the media reported that the property was being removed from the estate, where he was supposedly under house arrest. The police went to the scene because they had received information about the removal of weapons, but it was not confirmed. His wife, Oksana Marchenko, had moved to Belarus the day before, on February 19.
