Hromadzke informs that former military men, who expressed a wish to defend their country, are released from holding facilities and pretrial detention. This was announced by Andrii Syniuk, the attorney from the Office of the Attorney General. This information was confirmed by the Minister of Justice, Denys Maliuska.
“This issue is quite complicated and is considered on the highest level. It is referred to a lot of people who are in custody and undergo their punishment all over the country.” stated Andrii Syniuk, the attorney from the Office of the Attorney General.
At the moment this issue is under thorough consideration: the battle experience, meritorious service to the State and true repentance are taken into account.
For example, Serhii Torbin, who was convicted of organising the attack on the Kherson activist Kateryna Handziuk, is already sent on the military mission. He was also allowed to choose a dozen of other convicts to add to his subdivision.
The former military man from the 72nd separate mechanised unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Balabukha, who was convicted of the murder of the civilian on the bus stop, is also released for the period of the war and is already on duty.
In addition, the former commander of the battalion “Tornado” Ruslan Onyshchenko, has filed an application to participate in active service during the war. Semen Semenchenko has posted on Facebook that he will also apply to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the nearest time.
“Soon I will apply to be a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I urge all of the brave Ukrainians to join our assault troops which will be created on the base of one of our military units.” wrote Semen Semenchenko.
