The European Union is completely closing its airspace to Russia (including private jets) due to full-scale aggression against Ukraine. It was stated during a briefing by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

"First of all, we are closing the EU's skies to Russian-owned or controlled Russian-owned aircraft. They will not be able to land or fly over EU territory. In particular, the private jets of the oligarchs," she said.

The EU also plans to ban all transactions with the Central Bank of Russia.

"We will also ban transactions with the Central Bank of Russia and freeze all its assets. This is done to prevent it from financing the Russian military operation," said the head of the European Commission.

In addition, the head of the European Commission announced a package of economic and personal sanctions against Belarus.

"We will target another aggressor in this war - the Lukashenko regime. The Lukashenko regime has contributed to a vicious attack on Ukraine. We will strike at the Lukashenko regime with a new package of sanctions. We will impose restrictions on critical sectors. They will stop exports of mineral fuels. We will also extend to Belarus export restrictions on dual-use goods that we have imposed on Russia," she said.

Ursula von der Leyen also announced a ban on broadcasting Russia Today and Sputnik in the EU.
