Russia has focused on surrounding the city of Kyiv. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of 12:00, 1st of March, the estimated loss of weapons and military equipment of the enemy of the Russian Armed Forces amounted to:
aircrafts - 29 units
helicopters - 29 units
tanks - 198 units
armored combat vehicles - 846 units
gun and mountings - 77 units
air defense - 7 units
light artillery rocket system - 24 units
unmanned aircraft system - 3 units
AT-T (heavy artillery tractor) - 305 units
fuel trucks - 60 units
ships and boats - 2 units
"The Russian occupier has reduced the pace of the offensive but is still trying to increase the pace in some directions in the offensive operation against Ukraine. It’s been the sixth day of Russia's military invasion in Ukraine," stated the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Columns of armored vehicles of the Russian aggressors have slowed down the pace of the offensive and have problems with supplies in Ukraine. The enemy troops are deprived of the systematic supply of fuel and ammunition.
"Having no success in capturing the regional centers of Kharkiv and Chernihiv, the occupiers fired rockets at residential areas of those cities. In addition, the Russian occupiers continue to surround the Ukrainian cities of Sumy, Lebedyn and Okhtyrka, the enemy is regrouping to continue the offensive towards Kyiv," the General Staff emphasizes.
In Donetsk region, enemy troops with forces of the army corps 1, 2 and units 8A with the artillery support of the Russian Armed Forces focused their efforts on capturing the Ukrainian city of Mariupol but not successfully. The goal of reaching the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions was not achieved.
In Tavriya direction, the enemy reached the border with the available forces in the areas of Skadovsk, Hola Prystan, Kherson, and Nova Kakhovka. After regrouping the offensive continues in the direction of Mykolayiv.
There were also cases of robberies and looting by the occupiers in the areas of Bucha, Hostomel, Novyy Basaniv.
"Despite the Russian Federation being a state party of the Geneva Convention protection of war victims, its armed forces and terrorist groups continue to systematically and defiantly violate the International humanitarian law in Ukraine. Having lost offensive capabilities, the enemy has focused on surrounding Kyiv,” the General Staff noted.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi also announced that the enemy was preparing an attack on Kyiv. He replaced the Head of the Kyiv City State Volodymyr Klychko with General Zhernov.
