The State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine will include Russia in the sanctions list of countries that promote the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. This was reported on the page of the SCFM on Facebook.

"We continue taking all possible measures to isolate Russia even further in the international arena due to its blatant violations of fundamental principles and norms of international law," the statement said.

The State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine has appealed to Financial Action Task Force (FATF) asking:

  • to recognize the Russian Federation as a country that distributes weapons of mass destruction and to include it into the relevant FATF sanctions list;
  • to exclude Russia from the FATF.

Also, given the fact that the actions of the Russian Federation are considered to be crimes of terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction under a number of conventions, the SCFM initiated an appeal to the Chairman and the Executive Secretary of the Egmont Group to exclude Russia from Egmimont Group.

We would like to remind you that the FATF is an international organization dealing with money laundering in the world. The Egmont Group brings together the financial intelligence of different countries to combat illegal financial transactions.
