The World Bank is preparing a $ 3 billion aid package for Ukraine

The World Bank has announced the preparation of a $ 3 billion aid package for Ukraine.

“There will be 350 million dollars as an emergency aid,” writes The Business Times, citing an official statement from the Bank.

The first tranche will be 200 million and should be approved by the World Bank's supervisory board. It should have an aim to support health and education spheres.

Meanwhile, the IMF, which has a $ 2.2 billion support program for Ukraine that will run until June, will consider immediate funding next week.

"We are deeply shocked and saddened by the incredible human and economic losses Ukraine has suffered as a result of the war. We will support Ukrainian people who are passing through awful events now. War will also have an impact on other countries. The sanctions announced in recent days will have a huge economic impact on the economy." It was announced in a statement from IMF President David Malpas and World Bank Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.

We will remind, that Ivanna Vladkova Gollar started her work as a head of the International Monetary Fund mission on February 23d.
