Ukrainian air defence destroyed two Russian fighter planes, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost one Mig-29

As a result of a fierce air battle between two Mig-29 fighters of the tactical Ukrainian Air Force brigade and two Russian Su-35S in the early hours of the morning, on 2 March, the Russian planes were destroyed by air-to-air missiles fired by Mig-29. The local surface-to-air missile brigade of the Air Command Tsentr also fired surface-to-air guided missiles S-300, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Air Force lost one Mig-29 in the battle. The search for the pilot is underway.

“So far, the enemy has had an advantage in numbers and quality of their air force hardware and weapons, but not in skills. The Ukrainian Air Force is doing everything in its power to clear the Ukrainian sky of enemy presence,” reports the General Staff.

The General Staff also reports that the enemy has abandoned a military convoy in an area controlled by one of the Ukrainian brigades. The hardware will serve the Ukrainian warriors.

According to official sources, the approximate enemy aircraft losses are 30 planes and 31 helicopters.
