The Pension Fund of Ukraine has financed 8.2bn hryvnyas, which will ensure the start of pension payments in March 2022.

"The Pension Fund of Ukraine has financed 8.2bn hryvnyas, which will ensure the beginning of the payment of pensions for March 2022 in the above amounts," the statement said.
According to the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with reference to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights Halyna Tretyakova, the Pension Fund of Ukraine accrued pensions for March 2022 and began transmitting information to authorized banks and Ukrposhta JSC.
"8.2bn hryvnyas has been financed, including 4.5bn hryvnyas for the payment of "military" pensions. Credit to the accounts has begun in the prescribed manner," the statement said.
In particular, pensions were calculated in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of February 16, 2022 № 118 "On indexation of pensions and measures to increase social protection of the most vulnerable in 2022" - using a 14% increase in average salaries is taken into account for calculating the pension.
"For the first time, this indicator will increase military pensions. As a result of the increase, half a million recipients will receive it, and the average size of such an increase will be 705 hryvnyas," the Parliament said.
In total, more than 10m people will receive increased pensions.
Thus, monthly compensation payments in addition to the pension for people over 75 years - there are 2.2 million such citizens in Ukraine - are also increasing. Elderly people 80+ will receive 570 hryvnyas instead of 500, and people aged 75 to 80 will receive 456 hryvnyas instead of 400.
"In case of temporary change of the actual place of residence of the recipient, to whom the pension was paid by JSC" Ukrposhta ", the citizen can apply to the Pension Fund of Ukraine in person, by telecommunications, and receive a pension by transferring funds without opening a bank account," the parliamentarians noted.
At the same time, the payment of pensions in March will be provided within the statutory period, taking into account the features provided by the resolution of the Cabinet of February 26, 2022 № 162 "On peculiarities of payment and delivery of pensions, cash benefits for martial law."
In particular, if necessary, the payment period may be extended after the 25th.
