Russia is trying to "demothball" the former military in Ukraine and involve them in open and underground war on its side.
However, the Security Service of Ukraine is successfully counteracting this –, the SSU.
An enemy RSG (reconnaissance and sabotage group), which arrived from the temporarily annexed Crimea the day before the full-scale invasion, was detained in the Donetsk region.
"They were to reconnoiter the checkpoints and locations of the Ukrainian military, as well as to carry out sabotage and prepare a bridgehead for further clean-up operation by the main forces of the Russian army. Enemy spies put up armed resistance to the Armed Forces and the Security Service. All of them were detained. During interrogation, the occupiers provided important evidence of armed aggression against Ukraine. " - the SSU statement said.
In the Kharkiv region, the SSU seized an artillery observer, who passed information on the location of military depots and critical infrastructure to enemy special services.
"The agent cynically corrected the Russian jet artillery fire at residential areas of the city. As a result of these actions, the infrastructure was destroyed and civilian casualties were caused," – the SSU.
In Zakarpattia (Transcarpathian region), an agent of the Russian Federal Security Service was uncovered. From the first day of the war he collected data on disposition of the western Ukraine residents and their attitude to the aggressor country.
In Dnipro, the SSU detained two more residents who supported the "russki mir". One of them photographed military objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The layout of the Operational Command "Skhid" (East) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was found in his laptop. The second spy collected data on the location of checkpoints in the city Dnipro. He passed the information about the location of our checkpoints to his curators using tags on Google map.
Two propagandist brothers with pro-Russian and pro-Belarusian views have been detained in Kyiv. There is evidence of their cooperation with the intelligence services of Russia and Belarus.
"The goal of the occupiers’ accomplices is to shake up the situation in the country and paint a "pretty information picture" for Russia and Belarus. At present, the picture they see is a view from behind the bars of the Ukrainian detention center," the SSU added.
Earlier, police detained 11 saboteurs in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The three detainees in Dnipro and Pavlohrad were armed with a Kalashnikov assault rifle, an F-1 grenade and a Mosin-Nagant rifle.
