Air defence forces shot down a Russian Su-25 fighter in the sky over Kharkiv.
The head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Synegubov, announced this.
"At about 6:15 p.m., an anti-aircraft missile system of the Ukrainian National Guard shot down a Su-25 fighter in the Kharkiv Tractor Plant area," he wrote on Facebook.
Sinegubov noted that the plane crashed near Kulinichi.
"The pilot did not have time to eject and died on the spot. According to other reports, the search for the pilot is underway," he added.
The Russian armed forces focus a significant part of their air fleet on Kharkiv, Oleh Synegubov reported previously. There are constantly 5-7 attack and fighter aircrafts over the city, which periodically bombard the city's residential areas.
During the day, Sinegubov reported another downed Su-25.
