The day before, the Council of the European Union issued a decision about prohibition on the import of euro banknotes into Russia.
The EU has prohibited individuals and legal entities from selling, exhibiting, transferring or exporting euro banknotes to Russia or sending them in any way for use in Russia.
The prohibition does not extend to the importation into the Russian Federation cash necessary to finance the work of embassies, consulates or missions of international organizations, but only those who has a diplomatic immunity.
Tourists were not forbidden to bring cash.
It should be reminded that the international payment systems Visa and Mastercard have announced the termination of their activities in Russia.
113 giant companies have already left the Russian market because of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. A total of 213 companies have completely or partially stopped cooperating with Russian partners.
